Record
Breaking A Level Results at the Best
College in Lancashire
It
was a record breaking year at Cardinal Newman
Sixth Form College as students excelled with
the best ever pass rates and highest ever grades
at both A Level and AS Level.
The A Level pass rate
was a staggering 99.7% with only 7 fails recorded
from almost 1,800 separate exam entries; a
record 47 subjects had a pass rate of 100%.
Principal Steve Pegg commented: “These
are excellent results and it just shows what
a combination we have of talented and hard working
students with inspirational staff. I am delighted
for every one associated with our community.
I am pleased that this year 60% of our students
achieved a grade A or B and almost 85% gained
grades A to C – these grades will do
much to help them to the next stages of their
careers.”
The AS pass rate of 94% was also way above the
national average at the City Centre College and
45% of AS students gained grades A or B in their
exams.
“Again this
is excellent news, and we manage to achieve
results like this alongside a national reputation
for the wide range of sporting, performing
and other cultural activities we offer students.
Our enrichment programme is second to none
and I am convinced that this helps inspire
our young people to achieve in the classroom.
Congratulations to them all!”
